2017 Race Rules Rules 1. All participants must keep to the side of the road. Any person running/walking in the middle of the road will be disqualified. 2. Registered runners must wear their club uniforms. Failure to do so could lead to disqualification. 3. Hand cycles, bicycles, skateboards, scooters, roller blades, prams/strollers and pets are prohibited. Runners must not be accompanied by cyclists, vehicles or unentered runners. Runners who are followed in this way will be disqualified 4. Earphone devices are strongly discouraged. 5. Only participants wearing official race numbers on their front and a timing chip around their ankle will be allowed to finish. Acknowledgement Entrants will be required to acknowledge the following: I acknowledge that neither the organisers, sponsors nor any other party associated with this event shall have any liability, financial or otherwise, which might arise, whether or not by negligence, from any direct or indirect loss or damage of property, or injury or death, which might be sustained by me or any party directly or indirectly associated with me, from any intended or actual participation in this event or its related activities. I agree to abide by all race rules and any other requirements included in the entry details as listed on the Dunedin Marathon entry form, website and event programme. I authorise information given on this entry form may be used for promotional purposes pursuant to the Privacy Act 1993. I accept that in the event that any "Act Of God" or any circumstances beyond the control of the organisers result in the cancellation of this event, my total entry fee is not refundable. I acknowledge that the course organisation will be closed at 1.00pm on race day, and that I must take responsibility for my actions and make my own arrangements for any support after this time. I understand and accept that photographs or video taken of me during the event may be used for future promotional purposes. Age Limits The age on race day applies to all races. The Full Marathon is open to all persons 18 years and over. The Half Marathon Run and Recreational Walk is open to all persons 12 years of age and over. Those over 12 and less than 16 years of age will require written consent from a parent / guardian and this must accompany their entry form. We will not accept any entries from those under the age of 12. Time Limit We have permission to conduct this event between 8am and 1pm. All competitorsmust complete the course by 1pm -no support will be provided after this time. Pick-up of Race Packs and late entries can be made at the Sargood Centre, Logan Park at the following times: Friday 8th September, 3pm to 7pm; Saturday 9thSeptember, 10am to 4pm; Sunday 10th September race day, from 6am. All entries close at 4pm on Saturday 9th September. NB: No entries accepted on race day. Timing Chips Timing chips must be worn as directed. Failure to return the chip at the finish line will incur a $50 fee. Aid Stations/Medical Support Eight stations at 5km intervals will serve water. Special drinks for marathon only should be clearly marked and left at the drinks table at Sargood Center, Logan Park Drive. Red Cross personnel will follow the event and be in radio contact. Medical support and masseurs will be on hand at the finish. Full changing and shower facilities will be available at Watson Park. The race organisers reserve the right to withdraw any competitor who is deemed medically unfit to continue the race. All competitors agree to abide by this ruling by the fact that they enter the event. All competitors enter at their own risk.
